Minute 16946 Mr Webb informed the Committee that he was arranging to put a compound expansion engine in one of the steel boats he was building at Crewe

Minute 17782 Reported that a Boat was being built at Crewe and provided with steam power which would be available as a tug boat and as an inspection packet. It was ordered to be named the Luna.

Minute 17799 The trial of a new propeller on the Luna was reported and experiments were ordered to be made with her acting as a Tug

Minute 18044  Mr Chambers reported thet the Tug Luna had commenced working between Ellesmere Port and Wolverhampton, but it was not yet known with what results.  Mr Jebb and Mr Chambers to watch the effectsof the Screw on the Canal

Minute 24965 Disposal of  3 canal tugs…Authority was given for the disposal, if suitable offers can be obtained of the Canal Tugs Dagmar, Dreadnought and Luna, which are not now required in connection with the working of the traffic between Chester and Ellesmere Port

Minute 25638 Sale of Canal Tugs. Reported that the tugs Dagmar and Dreadnought had been sold to Messrs R Abels and Sons, for the sum of £85 each. As the best offer obtained for the Luna was only £75 it had been decided to put the engine and boiler in stock and cut up the hull
